Officer Tackett is serving as the Papillion Police Department’s D.A.R.E. and Community Services Crime Prevention Officer. He is a twenty plus year veteran of the department and has served as the School Resource Officer at both Papillion Middle School and Liberty Middle School. Officer Tackett heads the Papillion Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council and assists with the school district’s Outdoor Education Program. He is the primary coordinator for the department’s summer program, “Police Academy for Kids”. He currently works closely with Sarpy County Juvenile Diversion Program as a class facilitator. Officer Tackett was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern Virginia. He served in the United States Air Force and traveled to Europe. Officer Tackett has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy and Management. In his leisure time he enjoys skydiving, white water rafting, horseback riding and kayaking. He is an English Premier League Soccer Fan, NFL Ravens fan and loves most college sports. He also enjoys curling at the Baxter Arena. Officer Tackett is married with three children. The newest addition to his family is an Australian Cattle Blue Heeler pup, named Ziva.
