Papillion Public Library is now offering contactless pickup of library materials. Contactless pickup is available for patrons with a full library membership. Digital access only cards do not allow for physical items to be checked out.
Step One: Place your items on hold.
Search for available items and place holds directly through the Papillion Public Library app or our online catalog. You will need your library card number and pin to place holds online. If you would like to suspend your holds for a future date, find a how-to guide here. You can also call the library at (402) 597-2040 to place holds. Library staff are available to take hold requests over the phone Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
You can request up to 10 items per library card for pickup. Patrons are asked to limit to one pickup per week.
Step Two: Wait for notification, and select a pickup time.
You will be notified by phone when holds are ready to select a pickup time. Library staff will attempt to process holds requests as soon as possible. Pickup times will be in 10-minute increments between the hours of 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays.
Step Three: Pick up your items.
When you arrive at the library, park along the curb, or in the parking lot. Your items will be in a bag and labeled with the first 3 letters of your last name and the first 2 letters of your first name. Library staff will place your bag on the pickup table located in front of the library. Once the staff have entered back into the building, you can pick up your items from the table.
Staff handling incoming and outgoing materials will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment, such as masks and gloves.
Contactless pickup will always be weather permitting as materials will be brought and left outside for patrons to collect. If rain is in the forecast, PPL reserves the right to withhold pickup services for that time in order to protect materials from water damage.
The outside book drop will reopen on Tuesday, May 26th. Currently checked-out items have had their due dates extended to July 1 to allow plenty of time to return. Returns can be dropped off at any time in the outside book drop. All items being returned will be quarantined for 3 days before being checked in. All returns must be placed in the book drop. Please do not attempt to hand returns to library employees.
