Basketball hoops and volleyball net systems have been installed, and many of the areas continue to take shape with concrete floors poured and walls dry-walled. In the photos below, you can see the main 3-court gym, aquatics area, multipurpose gym with stage, fitness deck of the main gym, child watch area, and the future community meeting room space, among some other shots.

The Papillion Landing Community Recreation Center continues to take shape inside and out. Crews are also working to complete the road that loops around the complex.

The City of Papillion, City of Papillion Recreation Department and Sampson Construction celebrated a topping-out ceremony for the Papillion Landing Community Center, raising the final beam into place on the structure. Those who played significant roles in the creation of the community center were invited to sign the beam.

The Papillion Landing Community Recreation Center continues to take shape inside and out as crews continue to work through the winter. The floor has been poured in the main 3-court gymnasium, while other areas of the facility will have floors poured soon.

With the field house now open and substantially complete, crews continue construction on the community recreation center to the south. Much of the structure and walls of the main gymnasium and secondary gymnasium have been erected. Crews are now constructing the exteriors of the aquatics and community meeting spaces.

Turf is down in the field house, and the batting cages are coming together. Crews are finishing up an array of final details to the building preparing for its opening in November. More parking has been poured.

Crews are laying down the field turf inside the fieldhouse. Our fieldhouse will be the first field in the state of Nebraska to have this state-of-the-art turf. The turf will have Ecofill, made from recycled plastic, not granulated tires. The fill doesn't radiate as much heat, stays in place better and smells better than fields with the granulated tire fill. Above all, it plays the closest to natural grass of any turf available.

Windows are being installed on the fieldhouse. New road has been poured north of the fieldhouse and connecting to the parking lots. Crews are constructing the roof to the gymnasium portion of the community center as the rest of the building continues to take shape.

Construction on both buildings and the overall site continues to progress on schedule. Additional connecting road has been poured at the site. Crews continue to work to enclose the fieldhouse while some interior work is already underway. More walls and structure have been put up on the community center.

Crews continue enclosing the exterior of the field house. The community center building is beginning to take shape with the structure of the gymnasium being constructed. More parking lot space has been poured.

Crews are putting up the exterior walls of the fieldhouse. New walls and structure of the community center portion of the complex continue to be erected. Concrete for the first section of parking has been poured.

The community center building is beginning to take shape as precast walls and structural steel are going up. Much of Frontier Drive south of Lincoln Street has been poured setting up the connection to the Papillion Soccer Complex and City Park. The first parking lot is prepping for paving.

Fieldhouse construction continues to progress. The south wall of the community center building is nearing completion. The footings for the community center building are also nearing completion, and the steel structure of that building will begin to go up soon. Crews have begun paving the roads that will connect the site to the Papillion Soccer Complex and City Park.

The steel structure of the fieldhouse is nearly complete! Crews have started setting precast walls on the southern end of the building. Footings are in the process of being poured for the community center just south of the fieldhouse.

Footings for the fieldhouse have been completely poured. Crews have begun to build the fieldhouse structure.

During its Feb. 6 meeting, the Papillion City Council approved "Papillion Landing" as the name of the community center and fieldhouse. After inviting the public to submit their naming ideas in November and December of 2017, the City received more than 70 name submissions. Utilizing Council feedback, the list was narrowed down to finalists with "Papillion Landing" emerging as the preferred name for the facility.

The City of Papillion held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new community center and fieldhouse. Expect to see construction crews moving dirt at the site soon!

Preliminary preparation of the site is complete, and it is ready for construction to begin. Crews will begin by pouring the footings to both buildings.
