Washington Street and 2nd Street Intersection Improvements

Sealed proposals will be received by Alex Evans, Deputy City Engineer of said City, at City of Papillion Public Works Facility, 9909 Portal Road, Papillion, Nebraska 68046, until 11:00 am on the 22nd day of October 2021 for the furnishing of all labor, materials, use of Contractor's equipment, plant and all else necessary to construct properly all of the improvements within the improvement of Washington Street and 2nd Street Intersection Improvements.

At such hour, or as soon as practicable thereafter, the City of Papillion will proceed to publicly open in the presence of all bidders and consider the bids received for the furnishing of such labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the proper construction of such improvements.

All work called for in the drawings and specifications shall be furnished in strict accordance with the drawings and specifications prepared by Adam J. Denney, Engineer(s) for the City and now filed in the office of the City Clerk at the temporarily relocated City Hall, 3303 W. Halleck Street, Papillion, Nebraska 68046.

This contract is for Washington Street and 2nd Street Intersection Improvements for the City of Papillion. Improvement services include the construction of one (1) new pedestrian hybrid beacon for the Washington Street crossings. Work also includes removing the existing RRFB, in-roadway lighting, and extending the curb on the southeast corner of the Washington Street and 2nd Street intersection.

Each bid must be accompanied in a SEPARATE SEALED ENVELOPE by a certified check drawn on a bank whose deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid submitted, payable without condition to the Treasurer, City of Papillion, Nebraska, or a bid bond for a like amount as evidence of good faith of the bidder and as agreed upon liquidated damages to the City of Papillion in the event the bidder whose proposal is accepted by the Mayor and City Council fails to enter into contract within ten (10) calendar days after Notice of Award and furnish acceptable certificate of insurance, as well as acceptable performance bond to complete the work on time and acceptable payment bond to pay for all labor done and materials used, each bond to be in the amount of one-hundred (100) percent of the total bid price.

No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of Sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids.
