Letter of Understanding

The Public Works Department sponsors an Adopt-A-Road Program inviting individuals and businesses to participate. The program is designed to help maintain designated roadways and to promote beautification along open space corridors throughout our city.  Typically those who participate in these programs help to keep the adopted areas free of litter and debris.

If anyone is interested in volunteering for this program, stop in at the Papillion Public Works Administrative Office located at 145 West 2nd Street and talk to us, or call 402.597.2043 for further details.  We can help you get started.
Spring Clean-Up Days

The Papillion Public Works Department will sponsor the Annual Spring Cleanup Days on April 9, 10, and 11, 2010.  We will be accepting household furniture, lawn furniture, storm doors and windows, major appliances, broken toys, bicycles, bed springs and mattresses, construction materials, undamaged propane tanks, automotive parts, automotive batteries, tires (rims must be removed), computer components, and televisions.  Tree limbs and yard waste will be accepted but must be free of garbage, and bags must be removed.

We cannot accept automotive oil, hazardous waste, or paint.  (Please click on Under the Sink for information on a facility that will accept some of these items.)  You must show proof of residency to be allowed to take advantage of this service.  Please bring a copy of your water bill.

The dumping site is located at the former River City Ball Field Complex at approximately 98th Street and Cornhusker Road (south side of Cornhusker).  Dumping hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Our recyclers will haul away junk cars at no cost to you.  The only requirement is to call the Public Works Department at 597-2043 to schedule the pick-up and to receive the proper form you will need to fill out prior to pick-up and disposal.

If you need further information, please call the Papillion Public Works Department at 597-2043.

Please note that there will also be a Fall Cleanup Days scheduled for October 14, 15, 16, and 17, 2010.  The acceptable items will be the same as the Spring Cleanup Days.
