     Hazard Mitigation


The Planning Department is participating in the Papio-Missouri River NRD Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update.  The Papio-Missouri NRD is leading the planning effort to update the 2011 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.  The Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan will identify the vulnerabilities to natural hazards and the projects that can be implemented to reduce or eliminate vulnerability exposure.  FEMA requires a current Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan as a condition of eligibility for Federal funding for hazard mitigation projects and efforts related to natural disasters.  Public Assistance funds can be used to help repair or replace public buildings and/or infrastructure damaged during a natural disasters.
