Letter from Parks Director Anthony Gowan
Whether you are walking through the Arboretum in Halleck Park, catching fish at Walnut Creek Lake, or
participating in a sporting event on one of our many athletic fields, the staff of the Papillion Parks Department strives daily to provide our residents the highest quality outdoor venues in the area.
The Parks Department is responsible for the daily maintenance of all of the City of Papillion’s parks, athletic fields, city buildings, and right-of-way spaces. The care of turf, trees, and landscaping is met with an emphasis
on quality, which in turn provides our citizens with great open spaces to enjoy.
The Parks Department plays an active role in the annual Tree City U.S.A. recognition award, Arbor Day, and the Winter Wonderland holiday light display. Preparing for the many athletic tournaments that utilize our fields throughout the season is always a high priority within the department.
We look forward to improving the open areas in and around Papillion, and to answering any questions or comments our residents may have to help us in that endeavor.
