Welcome to the City of Papillion. Recently our City was voted one of the top 10 cities in America in which to live. The poll was conducted by MONEY MAGAZINE and CNN.COM. As Mayor of this fine community, I am pleased to welcome you to this website. Whether you are just here for a visit or researching information about a place to live, you have found what I believe is the finest community in America. Papillion has the advantages of small town living, with the convenience of a major metropolitan area only minutes away. The median household income for Papillion is $73,978 per year. The median price of a home is $156,237, and we have 9 colleges or universities within a 20 minute drive.

When choosing a place to live, families often consider the school system and low crime rates. Papillion has an excellent 7400 student school district with a 13:1 student to teacher ratio. Our schools are based on the neighborhood school concept, and the school district has recently completed construction of a new high school facility. Papillion students consistently rank as one of the top group of students in SAT and ACT scores.
Our city is served by a police department that is one of very few nationally that require police officers to have a college education. The department places a strong emphasis on community policing. Nationally, cities have a crime risk of 100. Papillion has a crime risk of 15—the lower number always is a better number when ranking crime in a community. Our officers maintain a vigilant presence in our schools and streets. The police department is complimented by our city fire department. We offer the only full-time career staff in the county with a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day advanced life support and paramedic services. Along with the excellent public school system and professional public safety services, Papillion offers many amenities to its citizens.
Our city owns and operates a 23,000 square foot library; an aquatic center with zero depth pool, two water slides and two 18 hole par 70 golf courses. Our city parks are first class and plans are in place to expand the park system 10 fold over the next 20 years. A multitude of programs and activities for the area youth, adults and seniors are offered through city programs.
