Entry Level Police Officer

The Papillion Police Department is accepting applications for Entry Level Police Officers for entry level testing.  The testing is to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer.  This list will be used for current and future vacancies.  The current starting salary is $47,579.49.  The City of Papillion offers a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities:
• Enforcement of local and state laws
• Response to emergency situations
• Perform criminal investigations
• Ability to operate computers, electronic instruments, motor vehicles, and firearms.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSES:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of hire.
• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Must possess an Associate’s Degree and/or successful completion of sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university, at the time of hire*.
• Must obtain certification from the State of Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center basic course, within a time frame established by the employer.
• Must maintain all certifications as required.
• Must be bondable.

Must be willing to submit to a drug screen, medical exam, background investigation, psychological evaluation, and polygraph test.  Position requirements may be downloaded at www.papillion.org on the Human Resources tab.

The written exam is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, 2016, 6:00 p.m., at Papillion-La Vista High School, 402 E. Centennial Road, Papillion, NE 68046.  Candidates must pay a $35.00 registration fee IN CASH at the exam. Only exact change will be accepted.  If the fee is not paid at this time, you will not be allowed to take the test.

Parks Programs

Recreation Programs

Recreation Specialists:    Responsible for the preparation of a daily calendar of events and supervision of all program participants including but not limited to Pappy’s Playgrounders Day Camps, Little Kickers Soccer Camps, Baseball/Softball Rookie Camps.

Papio Bay Aquatic Center

Papio Bay Assistant Manager:  Responsible for assisting the Manager with the daily operations of  Papio Bay Aquatic Center through participating in and supervising pool operations, maintenance, concessions and admissions.  Also responsible for planning, marketing and organizing all special events, programs and outings at the Papio Bay Aquatic Center. An incumbent will be required to work varied hours during the week including evenings and weekends. Apply Now

 Papio Bay Lifeguards:  Responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly pool environment and for attending to swimmers in need of assistance.
Minimum Requirements:  Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of hire, must have American Red Cross basic lifesaving or equivalent certification at the time of hire and must have CPR and first aid certification at the time of hire. Apply Now

Papio Bay Park Attendants / Concession Workers:  Responsible for greeting patrons and guests, daily maintenance and upkeep of the facility, accepting payment for use of pool and for distributing food and beverages.

Sumtur Amphitheater
Facility Coordinators:  Responsible for the supervision of facility operations for events including but not limited to event preparation, parking/shuttle bus operations, ticket sales, customer service and gate security.
