                Why Papillion?

As one of Nebraska's fastest growing communities, Papillion is quickly becoming the center of growth for the area's burgeoning private and business sectors. In the past two years alone, 184 new businesses have opened. Shadow Lake Towne Center and the Shoppes at Market Pointe are two new developments that are thriving in the Papillion environment.

It all makes sense.  Papillion is the second fastest growing city in Nebraska with a 30.0% increase in population between the years 2000 and 2006.  Papillion is located in Sarpy County, which has the fastest growing population among all the counties in Nebraska.  Between the years 2000 and 2006, Sarpy county saw a 16.3% increase in population, leaving the county at an estimated population of over 150,000 people.  The average household in Papillion consists of 2.9 people, with 78.8% family households.

Papillion's residents are among the wealthiest in Sarpy County.  The average household income for Sarpy County is $53,804; the estimated average household income for Papillion is $81,473.  Combine that with a 13.27% reduction in the City Tax Rate over the past three years and a 39% increase in property value since 2003, and you've got an affluent community and thriving businesses.

Papillion also offers a wide variety of financing options for your new or relocated business.  Six different banks have branches in Papillion: First National Bank of Omaha, Pinnacle Bank, American National Bank, Great Western Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and the Sac Federal Credit Union.

The City of Papillion also partners with the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce and the Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation to assist in the recruitment and retention of business in our community.
